Happy Birthday, ‘Merica. Forever grateful to all you have given my family. Forever proud of our Italian, immigrant beginnings here in this country, and that four generations later we are restauranteurs, wedding planners, chefs, reality tv participants, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles and hospitality experts to name just a few of the legacies that continue to flourish from those days long ago when Gene Michelotti made a decision to come here with his Dad. I will never forget my Italian roots, my family heritage, or my American pride. Even in these uncertain times, even when other Americans express opinions or demonstrate actions that I do not approve of or agree with, I am still proud. Even when the system reveals all of its flaws and failings. Because we are all a work in progress, and so is this country. I will remember that as I lead by example, remember those immigrants who built our bridges, buildings and tunnels.

To those who founded this country based on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. To those immigrants who fearlessly came here in pursuit of a better life, and built our country. To those who have defended our rights and freedoms so that we may pursue those very things I just mentioned. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I am really proud to be a third generation immigrant descendent who gets to grow and evolve the dream that my grandfather had with Georgetti 78 years ago. I am proud I get to pursue my own dreams by running my own business, and chasing some serious competitive goals with my horses. Today is a day where I think about all of that, how far we have come as a family and a country – and how far we still have to go. Happy Independence Day, friends.

That’s what I’m celebrating today. And I bet that every one of you reading this post can identify with some small part of what I have written here today, right? And guess what? That means we are all more connected than we think. And that’s a pretty awesome thing on our country’s birthday isn’t it? Sending love and lots of patriotic style your way today.

Happy Fourth of July, friends!!! 💋 🇺🇸♥️
