Hello and welcome to SPRING!
Let’s spring forward and immerse ourselves in a wonderfully busy March! We are about one month out from our second wedding of the season as well as a very special wine dinner at Gene & Georgetti with Stag’s Leap! (Not to be missed, click here to book!).
Personally I can barely wrap my head around the reality that we are halfway into March! But the 19th of March is one of my favorite Italian American celebrations – have you ever had a zeppole? The story goes that a severe drought struck Sicily in the Middle Ages. The people promised St. Joseph they’d cook a big feast for him if he brought rain. He did, and the tradition was born. The pastries are so delish and the restaurant will have them fresh from my favorite childhood bakery, Reuter’s this Saturday!
And of course this week we have the Chicago Cook for Chefs for Ukraine event which we are so proud to take part in! My husband and Chicago wedding photographer Collin Pierson is the photographer for the evening and I am so proud of him! You can still purchase tickets to come to tonight’s event which is going to be so special for a really important cause.
Aside from that, we are excited for all that March continues to hold and all that April promises as well! MDE is happily at work on a select few incredibly specials weddings for this year, with only two spots left for planning! Can you believe it? We feel incredibly blessed to find ourselves here, and in light of the current situation in the Ukraine, we make a point to find at least three things to be grateful for each day.
Currently, I find myself giving thanks for:
• The incredible team at True North Stables that cares for my wonderful horses.
• Our amazing 2022 clients who are flexible, fun and each have such immense
style!
• Nicole Lee, our senior wedding + event consultant who is such an awesome
part of our process here at MDE.
• Jessica Brown, our events director at Gene & Georgetti (and part of our
MDE team too!) for managing all of the community, social media and private
dining in our restaurant.
I mean, to be honest, the list could go on and on. But we will stop here with a hefty dose of thanks and much love sent your way. Will you be at Navy Pier tonight? I will, so stop by the Gene & Georgetti table!
