Buongiorno da Firenze! 💜

Florence Fast Facts

Capital of the Tuscan region, once capital to the country (1865-70). Founded in the 1st century BCE.

Florence’s museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. And of course, the Medici family, some of the world’s best shopping and I could eat 6 meals a day here and still need more meals. Lol.

I lived here while attending University and am lucky to have many loved ones here and in Lucca too. It is home for me as much as Chicago.

The Arno river (next to me) is another gem of the city, slicing right through and covered in gorgeous bridges – none more historic than the oldest bridge, Ponte Vecchio. Originally a meat market that evolved to a less pungent gold market, this incredibly gorgeous, beautiful and wonder of engineering bridge not only helps us cross over to the Oltrano which is artistic and so fun but it takes us back to medieval times, having been the only bridge to have survived the bombings during WWII.

Near the bridge is Caffe Dell’Oro – an awesome place for coffee with fab people watching. On the bridge, visit Tomasini Francia for some incredible pieces. ✨ and also right here is the amazing Florentine cooking school The Cooking Touch which you do NOT want to miss! 💜
