As a woman who owns multiple businesses, is an amateur equestrian, a wife, daughter, wedding planner, a friend, an entrepreneur, and a third-generation restaurateur I can tell you on this International Day of Women, that the place I find myself in often is -> mistakingly underestimated.

But since the age of about four when I started going to work with my father, I’d sit in his chair in his corner office and knew that I’d be up for any challenge.

For me, being female is a declaration. It is a gift and a burden. It is acceptance of my imperfections while remaining in constant pursuit of progress.

It is power and energy, and immense self-care because there are ups and downs. There is pain too among the joyful moments. There is grief in the losses. There is triumph in the wins. There is insecurity. Occasionally imposter syndrome. There is a fuck ton of swearing. Some serious belly laughter and lots of self forgives + “work in progress” moments.

And through it all, this woman powers through. With humor. And empathy. Many of us carry scars and the weight of life. Most of us carry trauma. Because giving up is not me. That doesn’t mean I don’t think about it though, so if you’re out there reading this and thinking I’m always out there fighting just know there are so many days that include tears and self-doubt too.

We don’t just roar as women. We cry too. We sing. We comfort softly. And more and more we speak for ourselves because nobody speaks for us like we do.

So this post? Well – it salutes women everywhere who are just. like. me -> Stubborn, steadfast, passionate, compassionate, insatiable, resilient, afraid but doing it anyway, goal obsessed, laser-focused, heartfelt, love-filled, hard-working, layered, respectful, mindful, colorful, and loving -> to name a few of the many qualities that women embody. 💪🏼

So really, this post is also a shout-out to my Father and my Mom too, for raising a female that has the ability to carry all that she does while finding celebration in (almost) all of it. 🙏🏻

That little girl though. She knew then, you can just see it on her face. 💜

Now – my last thing on this post -> and it’s a BIG ASK to all my fellow women, but I know you can do it.

Support each other. Lift up other women. Compliment a woman today. On her intellect as much as her beauty. Support one another and CHEER for one another because we are all out here just trying to stay strong and move forward and do our best. I send you a high five and much love. ✨
