Walking into Friday and this new month of March like…
For those who’ve been here a while, you know I’m Michelle Durpetti—the force behind Michelle Durpetti Events, as well as the third generation at Gene & Georgetti in Chicago. I’m also an equestrian, lover of fabulous parties, coffee-obsessed, and a vintage Gucci enthusiast.
And while you may know that I’m deeply committed to building bridges between the U.S. and Italy, you may not know that I proudly serve on the Chicago Sister Cities Milan Committee, fostering global, cultural, and business exchanges between Italy and the U.S., and I am a member of the National Italian American Foundation, which strengthens U.S.-Italy relations. Additionally, I am honored to be a Knight of Alba! By representing Italy in multiple ways—including speaking the language fluently when working there to bring gorgeous weddings to life – when I tell you as a couple looking to plan in Italy that I have unique knowledge and insight to the culture and country in addition to being fluent in the language -> I mean it! 🤩👌🏼🇮🇹✨❤️
The photo above, taken by my husband Collin Pierson, is from the top of a mountain in Davos, Switzerland (one of Europe’s highest towns at 1,560m/5,120ft). We were recently at Fuxägufer, a dreamy spot that also hosts weddings!
