When in Rome, a visit to Campo de’ Fiori Market is a must. This historic open-air market in the heart of the Eternal City is more than just a place to shop—it’s a sensory experience that captures the spirit of Rome itself.
Collin and I spent a few hours exploring Campo de’ Fiori, a market that’s been operating since the mid-1800s. Located just a short walk from Piazza Navona, the market is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. It’s a local favorite for fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, flowers, and artisan goods.

Campo de’ Fiori—which translates to “field of flowers”—was originally a meadow during medieval times. That heritage still lives on today, especially in the lush blooms you’ll find throughout the market. I picked up some peonies (how could I resist?) and even some seeds to bring home with me—small reminders of a morning well spent.
This piazza isn’t just about produce. It’s a vibrant hub where locals, chefs, and visitors connect over the beauty of everyday Roman life. For me, it’s also a well of creative inspiration. The colors, the textures, the natural beauty—these moments fuel both my personal and professional worlds, especially when I’m planning floral and décor concepts for weddings in Italy.
We filmed a quick video during our visit so you can see the market in action—and maybe even feel transported to a sunny Roman morning yourself.
