The more I travel, the more I discover how beautifully connected we all are—despite the many differences in culture, cuisine, and tradition that make the world so rich and vibrant.

Every destination I’ve had the privilege of working in or exploring has taught me something about how people live, love, and honor what matters most to them. Whether it’s the way a family in Tuscany celebrates their heritage through food and faith, or how a couple in Mexico blends their cultures into a modern wedding ceremony, I’m constantly reminded that tradition looks different everywhere—but its meaning is universal.

And the more I see and learn, the smaller the world feels in the most wonderful way.

It’s easy to forget, especially in today’s fast-moving, often divided world, that there’s so much more that unites us than separates us. But time and again, I find myself returning to that truth. It’s one of the core reasons I love planning destination events—because they give us the chance to step into someone else’s corner of the world, to experience something new, and to celebrate the beauty of togetherness in a way that’s both intimate and unforgettable.

Here’s a little reflection from my travels and why they continue to shape how I live, plan, and connect.

Why This Matters to Me as a Planner

As a wedding and event planner, my job goes far beyond logistics and timelines. I help create experiences that reflect my clients’ values, stories, and the people they love most. And when we do that in a destination—especially one that offers rich culture, meaningful history, and breathtaking surroundings—it becomes so much more than a celebration. It becomes a memory of a lifetime.

That’s why I’ll never stop chasing connection, culture, and that beautiful sense of belonging that travel brings.
