I am a creator. I make my living managing my family’s brands, community outreach and of course – producing events and weddings. All of these require creativity and solutions oriented thinking. But, no one feels “creative” ALL the time. So, a few months ago, when I was needing something to push me out of my comfort zone, my friend (and super talent) Akeshi Akinseye stepped right up to offer the most perfect solution. Bringing the Kesh Experience workshop to our venue and team in Rosemont not only taught them something new, and created some incredible round table discussion, it also taught me a few things I was not expecting. It challenged me to see this industry that I love to be a part of from a different point of view. I have always loved floral, but have joked for most of my life that I cannot even arrange one rose in a bud vase. 🤣 From making my very first bouquet to understanding the mechanics behind the beautiful floral that she makes, Akeshi pushed me to learn about a slice of the industry that I had not experienced before, and to try something new. There is no feeling like the exhilaration that comes with learning something new, and working with gorgeous floral is always a fun way to get the creative juices flowing! It was such a great experience, and one that really motivated me throughout the rest of the summer! What do you do when you need a creative lift?
