Equestrian Life

It's said that, in life, it's important to have your "why." Why are you doing what you do? Why are you motivated to hustle and work hard? For me, horses are that why. I started riding when I was 9 years old and have been in love with these beautiful, giving, and magnificent animals ever since. Today I compete in both the amateur-owner hunter and adult jumper divisions with my horses Cassius, Lucca, and Serafina. While juggling work and riding can often be a challenge that requires great patience, planning, and dedication, there's nothing that I wouldn't do to continue the privilege of pursuing my passion. You see, my horses are not only my why, they are also my "how." They're the ones that provide me with a place of quiet, unconditional love and that fuel and drive me to set big goals and accomplish all that I set out to do.

The Comeback

The Comeback

The comeback will be greater than the setback. A phrase I thought I understood until I really experienced it myself this week. Having been through the last 15 or so months that I have lived, these kinds of quiet, seemingly inconsequential victories are the ones I have...

Monday morning check-in

I woke up this morning feeling a little bit uncertain. It is a wintry 36 degrees here in the Chi as I am typing this. Flurries are possible today as the city enters in to new advised restrictions due to a COVID-19 surge with state wide restrictions looming on the...
